Flying SFO to France and London

I am planning a trip for two to London and Paris in late December (12/23-01/05). It's going to be our first trip to Europe. Leaving from SFO to Paris (CDG) or London (Heathrow). If possible, prefers to fly business class. I have several AMEX points and want to use it towards this vacation. Any suggestions on how I should convert it into points and which airlines are preferred? Please help! Thanks!

Welcome to Flyertalk. I suggest reading this thread...

Near the end there is a discussion about flying between Chicago and Paris. While the specifics are different, the principles and techniques will also apply to your route.

Air France flies non-stop between SFO and CDG, using an Airbus A340-300.

British Airways, United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic fly non-stop between SFO and LHR.
