I was at this lounge yesterday. I can confirm that PLAT (and so of course EXP as well) are granted access. However, you cannot bring a guest. My wife was with me and she was not allowed in, just me. This was disappointing, so I just hopped in for 10 minutes, checked it out, and went back out to spend the time with my wife in the (nice, but small) terminal.

Lounge is nice, decent selection of self serve alcohol, Coke and Diet Coke fountains available, small selection of snacks/sandwiches, a few couches in a darker/quiet room that would be good for napping.

Arriving from MIA-MVD as a OWE. Any chance I can use the Aeropuertas VIP lounge as an arrivals lounge?

Also what is my chance of being upgraded this Saturday? It's J3/Y7 now but was J7 when booked back in Dec. Didn't know this route was so popular...

Your chances of being able to use the arrivals lounge are either 0% or 100%, depending on whether you are willing to pay the access fee (around US$60) or not. When you arrange a visit with them in advance you'll get escorted through Fast Track immigration, plus they'll retrieve your bags and deliver them to the lounge.
Oneworld status and/or traveling in business class on the AA flight will not get you in there per se. You may get lucky if you hold a diners cc, or some Amex cards.

My upgrade success (using AA SWUs) is 100% on this route. I booked two months out, though. Cabin was full.

I flew last Feb and did not clear my upgrade (booked several months before). My only recent AA international upgrade miss. I think this flight is super-popular because it's the only nonstop between Uruguay (one of the strongest economies in South America) and the US.

I walked by the gate for it at MIA once and there were 16 people on the upgrade list at the gate. I recall it being a relatively random Tuesday, not peak season (i.e. December-January).

I know quite a few Uruguayans living in the USA who take this flight exclusively for trips to Uruguay.

Yikes -- fingers crossed! Yeah it does appear to be the only flight direct from the US. Other carriers you have to transfer in Argentina, Brazil, or Panama. When I called the AA EXP desk upon booking they said my chances were very good (at that time the cabin was like half full and apparently we were #1/#2 on list). Companion does not have EXP but on same itinerary so at this point I'm thinking it's not worth it to be split. As long as there are two open spots before departure we should be able to get it right if we are on same PNR? Is there any way for us to be bumped (do Y/B fares still go to the top).

Sent an email to the lounge asking if they take Priority pass for arrivals -- not hopeful, and even if they do I doubt they will escort me to fast track immigration.

Will keep you guys updated. Thanks

Edit: No one got upgraded It was a full flight about 7 days out all the way until boarding. In the end it was probably like J0 Y5 on a random Saturday in March...

Sorry for this old thread, best search could find.

Is there a lounge for the evening MVD flight to MIA? Oneworld lounge DB (https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-...eaccess/mvd/-1)

only shows access to Iberia and LATAM flights not AA.

Pretty clear that only those two airlines have contracted to provide their customers a lounge.

I am asking for recent experince from the forum. I find ir hard to beleive this longhaul service has no lounge. I flew it 12 years ago and there was an undocumented AA VIP room (old terminal) 2 years don't remember....

The lounge is open 24 hours a day. I have been invited both as AA and Copa business class passengers. Lounge is nice and food isn't bad. Quality varies by time of day/airline departures. Lounge has been remodeled within last six months.

There is one lounge that is used by all carriers. If you have time - go to the restaurant before immigration on the top floor - called Patria. One of the better airport restaurants in the world.

My husband is a AA Lifetime Platinum, and I have no status. In January, we are flying coach from Montevideo to Miami, and then on to LAX. Does hubs have lounge access for that third party lounge, and if so, can he bring little me as a guest?

Thanks a bunch.
