2 planes with the same flight number (AA5037) flying the same route at the same time

This is a new one:

Yesterday's AA5037 DCA-PWM was delayed overnight from 10:16pm to 8:13am and is waiting to take off.
Today's AA5037 DCA-PWM was scheduled to depart at 8:37am. I am on it, but, unsurprisingly, the cockpit is having trouble because it has the same callsign as the other AA5037.

It's of course common nowadays to have the same flight number attached to both the outbound and a return, but this is the first time I've seen two planes with the same flight number going in the same direction.

Presumably someone will eventually rename one of the flights to AA9xxx or whatnot, but the door closed 30 minutes ago and we are just sitting and waiting. Going for greAAt!

Happened with 5383 a couple days ago, both ended up airborne near SDF on the same frequency. Not uncommon at all, usually they drop the first number and add a letter to the end, but that generally requires the dispatcher's attention.
