AMD to ORD using Miles

AMD to ORD using Miles
Collectively we have about 800,000 Advantage miles between the two of us.
There are 4 of us and we are trying to fly back late December (25 to 30 Dec) from AMD (India) to Chicago (ORD).
We have 2 young kids and want to make sure we are able to use the miles to book the tickets.
We are unable to find any miles tickets that makes sense - we want less than 28 hours and want to spend 40k miles per person.
Is there a special trick to purchasing miles ticket to travel from India? We are not finding any and the ones available are over 33 hours and 115k miles.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Grab it while you can. You can always cancel and rebook if something better shows up later on.

There is no trick, just an enormous amount of demand for doing exactly what you are (USA-India or vice versa using miles at peak holiday times).
As guv1976 suggested, grab whatever you can and keep searching. Another option is to search to other gateways like DEL, BOM etc. and buy a cheap ticket to AMD from there; this may not be practical if the kids are really young.
