AA Pilot rant on plane etiquette goes viral
A unidentified AA captain goes on a rant over the loudspeaker during boarding.
According to the article "A video of an American Airlines (AAL) - Get Free Report captain giving an angry-parent-style lecture on proper passenger etiquette has gone viral after a passenger aboard a flight posted it online"

Sad that it has come to this, to tell idiots how to behave like grown-... adults and not shrieking toddlers, but here we are. I don't have any problem with what he said.

Likewise, and I'm not the sort to have much patience for holier-than-thou lectures. Unfortunately this one is plainly warranted.

Yes, people suck sometimes. And yet this is an unprofessional diatribe. Somebody needs a new career. Or at least a vacation.

I think it's fantastic. I'm glad the pilot said what he said. He maintains a rational and polite tone. It's more a reality check for our selfish society than a rant. I'm here for it.

He speaks the truth. Unfortunately as someone above said, the people who need to hear this stuff are the ones never listening anyway. At least now the FA's have something/someone to point to when calling people out for these kinds of things.

Agree 100% with the message. The tone could've been a bit friendlier, but it's fine with me. While it's true that a lot of the people who make up the target demographic of this message will just ignore it, I suspect that many of the nuisance passengers are honestly just oblivious. Hopefully this announcement (either in real time, or as watched on social media) will wake some of them up.

However, the airline, or perhaps even just his peers, should strongly advise him not to repeat this behavior, in my opinion. Paying customers, most of whom are adults, shouldn't be lectured in this manner.
