772 lax/phx

Just thought it was really interesting/cool there is a daily 772 to Phoenix. Began I think yesterday and shows for today, tomorrow & Monday. Has to be for extra capacity for the SB. I'm about to book it for tomorrow. I guess on such a short flight this is not one of those times I have to do my nightly prayer to get the B/E & not the god awful Zodiacs.

Sounds like a nightmare for in-flight service… I foresee lots of turbulence-related service interruptions and “due to the short duration of the flight today” announcements, even for J. It’s such a big cabin for that duration. You’ll be lucky to get even one drink/snack in the air.

Still neat to see a widebody on the route, but there are so many potential issues, including all the delays that can happen with widebodies due to mechanical issues or other operational delays if coming from a prior INTL destination, etc.

But they have additional FAs and carts proportionate to the pax capacity of the plane, right? So wouldn't service be done in multiple zones all at once? Certainly the two aisles are done in parallel.

Takes me back 20+ years to my one super bowl. It was in Tampa and we had to fly to Orlando and drive. Booked a roach motel I would never have stayed in under any other circumstances- for $350 per night. We stayed until Tuesday for flights- and the room rate went down to the $69 where it belonged for the last night. My team lost (NYG), but still had a great time including Monday at an empty Busch Gardens (beer and rollercoasters )

Back in the day, HP had about a dozen (or more) daily flights between PHX and LAX. Now it looks like AA only has 5.

Non rev can be ppl using miles to buy it in F or employees right or is there a distinction ? My last few 321T flights had so many employees in F. Cool to see a 321T to PHX though.

Nice ! I’m flying the other way in the morning. Haven’t checked w FR24 yet but on AA it says the plane is your 772 coming in tonite so that’s cool it will be B/E. I think I goofed though and AA sort of screwed me. Had it on hold til tonite and it was gone. Had the upgrade yesterday. Now today I went to buy it but had to start over and w way less F seats open it didn’t give me the upgrade. Only 1 seat open. I’m mad because it said on hold til today.

Isn't F considered "domestic First" and "J" considered MCE on this type of route where the 321T is used on non-premium transcon (like when used occasionally on JFK-BOS). Or was this sold as 3-cabin?

yes I think you’re right. But however it’s sold it just seems always so many employees upfront on that plane. Must have been 5 of 7 were employees last week to Jfk.

5 flights a day?? That’s not enough!! They still have more than 8 flights a day. The flights are always full everyday and still have more demands! Lots of people who have connections flights from LAX. Too many people are going next overseas flight. They needed more flights!

Takes me back 32 years ago for my only SB XXV in old Tampa Stadium, but we drove non stop from Buffalo only to see Scott Norwood go wide right and the Giants win.
