Where exactly can I track my segments?

Thank you all. Original thread updated to clarify things based on your responses.

Great explanation, and it actually highlights where most of the confusions remain... in the "qualifying" piece. The definition of a segment is helpful, and that a separate booking not being a requirement is a huge plus. But it's the "qualifying" piece that appears to have most of the gotchas.

A "bonus segment" doesn't seem to exist today, unless someone knows of one, I certainly don't, which is why I asked. You don't know bonus means? :) How about "fly one segment and get two if you book on F" -- i.e. a cabin bonus. But it seems none exist today. Maybe AA will have a promo one day for double miles and double segment earnings, or earn X segments after a certain credit card spend, who knows :D

Oh my only confidence is that there is zero confusion in the former scenario (the PNR has both flights and you miss the connection due to the first flight's delay) but there is potentially some confusion and/or changing policies on the latter. In any case, this seems moot for this thread since it doesn't affect the segment count at all as pointed out by VegasGambler.

OK, maybe this is a stupid question but where exactly can I see my number of segments (i.e. who in AA is tracking this?). Have literally spent over an hour on the phone and chat with AA Customer Service (who always transfer me to AAdvantage Customer Service after being unable to respond) yet nobody has been able to provide a reasonable answer. EQS used to be visible on the app last year but only LP this year...

Am I missing something?! Already at >200k LP and would love to collect my Rewards from the 125k and 200k levels.

Thanks in advance for the wisdom of the group! :)

It's in the Promotions tab. Who would think to look for it there?

I recently redeemed BA Avios for a domestic AA flight. Added my AAdvantage number and received credit for the segment.

Wow-- unbelievable. Thank you! :)

(Amazingly, multiple folks at AA chat, AAdvantage Customer Service, etc. don't seem to know this. My compliments...)

AA flight segments

I booked a flight on BA ( not as a code share with AA). I received LP but no segment.

Does anyone know if code share flights with JL and QF count as flight segments?

A segment is qualifying if it's either a revenue flight with your AAdvantage account attached (including partner flights) or if it's an AAdvantage award flight operated by AA. There may be one exception -- I'm not sure if partner segments that don't earn LP are qualifying; I suspect that they are not. Some confirmation would be nice here.

I flew a MH segment over the summer that did not earn LPs (fare code was too low). My AA number was associated with the flight, but I did not receive segment credit for it, even after doing a mileage credit request.

If they are paid yes, if they are awards no.

Do award flights on BA metal and code, booked with AA miles, earn segments?

No. Must be AA operated and marketed for an award to earn a segment.

How about Landline connection?

Does anyone know if a Landline connection will count as an eligible segment?

Since it counts as an AA flight in every other regard I don't know why it wouldn't count as a segment as well.
