aBOVE AND Beyond

Doesn't seem like anyone posted about this in a while, but I just received 8 Above and Beyond certs pre filled with my name to give to AA employees...

1. What is the best way to deploy these?

2. Anyone know how they actually benefit the employee?

Thanks

1. If you carry the certs with you and you had a great FA, fill it out and hand it to them. I believe you can mail them in afterwards too if you didn't have any on you at the time.
2. Certs go into a quarterly raffle with cash prizes

Do the old certs actually expire? I just realized I have a whole bunch from pre-covid with a listed expiration date in 2021 that I haven't thought about in a couple years.

Yes I think they do expire. I've also given them to really good gate agents or even check in agents. All of them made it seem like they were eligible too so I don't think it's just aircrew that can receive them.

I hand them out when I've had great service on board, and most of the time it's been good. The flight attendants always seems very pleased and excited to get them. Not sure what it means for them but hopefully it's something that continues to promote good service.

Any AA employee can get them. I'm not sure about the crews of the regionals as they are not AA employees. And I'm not sure about the expirations. I have given plenty of expired ones out.

I have been told you don't need to fill them out, just handing them to the agent is fine. Maybe some can confirm this as I stopped filling them out several years ago.

I was told the certs past their expire date are still valid, I have definitely handed out certs past their expire date, but would be good to get a confirmation on this one too.

Crews of AA's wholly-owned regionals (Envoy, Piedmont, PSA) should be able to receive them as they are eligible for AA's quarterly rewards. Any other AA employee should be eligible as well, including the folks who work at headquarters, though you're unlikely to recognize them nonrevving next to you at the airport!
