Qualifying for 2021 SWU / Systemwide Upgrades in Jan/Feb 2022
I've requalified for Executive Platinum because of a promotional offer. I didn't get systemwide upgrades because I'm short of the EQM requirement. Does anyone here know if meeting the EQM requirement during the January/February "double-dip" period will result in me receiving 4 SUs or if the SUs requirement remains Jan 1-Dec 31, 2021?

I had the same question but the opposite situation--I've re-qualified for EXP for 2022 with Q4 EQD, but am about $1700 EQD short for the regular requalification and SWUs [I have more than enough EQM.]
Am I correct in reading that I have until February 28, 2022 to earn those last EQD?

Double check with AA, but if you qualify for EP u see a promo — ie the $2k EQDs, you would need to organically qualify at the 2021 qualifying level of ($12k?) and the 2021 reduced EQMs. I don’t believe you can use the promo for the EQDs and the organically hit the EQMs to get elite choice rewards. (SWUs). I don’t believe the two methods are interchangeable but double check with ACS

Date for selecting SWU, etc earned in 2021
For 2021 qualifiers it looks like the deadline for selecting SWUs or other options is December 30, 2022. Is that a typo and should read 2021 or is AA actually giving the entire year to make selection?

While I qualified for EP in Noveber based on a promo, I subsequently exceeded the $12K EQD requirement on Dec 28. I will fly again next weekend. Since January and February are "double-dip" months, my flight miles will go toward the 2021's 80K EQM requirement and 2022's 200K LP requirement. My question had been whether or not I'd receive 4 SUs for 2021 once I organically meet its EQM requirement, even if I meet it during the Jan/Feb 2022 "double-dip" period.
I guess that I'll find for sure after a day or two after next weekend's flights.
