I doubt many pilots will retire or leave. All employees are at will. They can always work elsewhere and AA or DL can hire someone. We need more truck drivers to unpack the supply chain issues, so that’s a future role for some.

Great move👌 I’ve flown UA twice since their mandate went into effect. It’s nice to know the person handling your food and drinks is fully vaxed.

Thread title has been updated (to the best of my ability ). I’ve also removed a raft of posts about other policies not mentioned in this memo that AA should or shouldn’t implement—this thread needs to stay on the topic at hand, as distilled in the new thread title and detailed in the OP, or it will be closed.

It's a good move, but unlike UA's proactive approach, I don't think AA gets any credit for it. "We are going to do the bare minimum legally required of us" is not a market-leading message.

If it gets to the point that all employees and all passengers must be vaxxed, can we take the masks off?

The wording in the press release makes it very clear that AA is against this policy and are only doing it because they were forced to. That says a great deal about how much AA cares about its emplyees and customers.

As severe punishment, they have to listen to weekly speeches from Vasu Raja.
