Yesterday I read a post about two FAs, primarily one, whining about how they board flights on Delta and could be more efficient and that corporate sucks but at least they get to fly in first a lot whereas first on Alaska is meh.

Today two flight attendants are YAPPING loudly across to one another about the food, and all of us here in First can hear it. I’m not going to lodge an official complaint, because it’ll probably get the FA in trouble and she’s RIGHT. The catering department switched from boxes to trays of food - I’m really excited I have a chance of getting real food instead of a snack - and apparently did the worst job of consistency ever. She said every tray is missing different items and they’re going to have to spend hours while flying to make sure everyone (dunno if it’s EVERYONE or just first) gets a consistent meal and isn’t missing vital items. Cheese. You name it.

Her frenetic screaming to her other FA was not something I wanted to hear, or theoretically professional, but if she’s had a long day and is stressed and willing to do the work necessary to get us all our proper meals, I’ll appreciate her. It would probably be the same stuff I would say, if I had an office away from the customers. Unfortunately they really don’t.

Will be happy to report how the meal comes out. Was never given an option to pre reserve food in advance as this was a last hour upgrade clearing.

More off topic but I was certain my GSP to CLT flight would clear me into first, and it was half empty when I walked to my regular seat, but alas, no one got cleared. Didn’t look like spare FAs came on board so not sure what happened there. Maybe just some late passengers but there were several open first seats just a few hours prior. Meh 😝

Personally, it sounds like she actually cared about delivering a good onboard product. I'd prefer this over the FAs who loudly chat about inane topics at the expense of inflight service. Frankly, the current "Bistro Bites" box offering (and also what DL is providing comparable flights) is embarrassing on a 5+ hr hub-to-hub quasi-transcon dinner time flight - especially considering UA and AS are now offering hot meals on flights a fraction of this length.

Honestly I'd just lodge an official complaint that the catering was unacceptable and leave it at that.

Flight is Charlotte to LAX. Will be happy to report how the meal comes out. Was never given an option to pre reserve food in advance as this was a last hour upgrade clearing.

I would probably feel the same way as you. However, in the interest of full disclosure, AA is known to read this forum so if you don't want to get the crew in trouble, I wouldn't specify the exact date and flight time as AA can easily look up the FAs working in F using the date and flight time.

Sounds like the catering kitchen may be understaffed and overworked.

Sorry for the delayed update. I've decided I don't want to lodge a complaint against the FAs (though it seems I may be screwed based on some comments above, I'll take down my flight date now so as to not leave behind a trail?).

That said, they only offered us a single cocktail on the entire 5 hours, and otherwise we had to try to flag them down. I don't mean the stranger next to me and I, I mean everyone in domestic Business/First. ANDDDD the FA told me the condiments were 100 percent on the side, when indeed they were already on my sandwich... top AND bottom. But at least she did theoretically take the time to get all my items on my tray?

I have a Wifi question (down the entire flight) but it seems it may warrant its own post and conversation about moving forward.
