”Every member gets a free gift

American is getting in the holiday spirit.

From tomorrow (Dec. 2) through Dec. 16, every AAdvantange member will receive a gift. The freebies include award miles, a complimentary Main Cabin Extra seat, an Admirals Club one-day pass and more. The gifts are personalized to your account — they are based on a number of factors, including your elite tier and how frequently you’ve traveled this year.

Note that everyone gets a gift, even non-elites, though the gifts do get better as you climb the (elite status) ladder. For instance, one of the top presents — a domestic upgrade certificate — is reserved for select elite members.

To receive your gift, simply login to your account on AA.com or through the mobile app, starting on Dec. 2. Click on the “Promotions” tab to reveal your offer.

The best part? Even those who aren’t yet AAdvantange members can take part in this holiday promo. Simply join the program by Dec. 16 to receive a free gift.

Promotions to fly American in 2021

In addition to your freebie, you’ll also unlock a promotional offer to encourage you to take to the skies in early 2021.

These personalized offers vary by account. These are “book and fly” promos — you’ll receive bonus miles or possibly another gift depending on how many segments you book and fly for early 2021,..”

Got four stickers, with the ability to earn four more and 1000 miles if I book two first class flights.

Any data points yet whether “flights” in this promo is a segment or a reservation?

Replying now as a bookmark for myself.

I've been wondering the same. I've got a 4 segment trip, on one reservation, that starts in a few days. As soon as I see how AA applies it, I'll add my datapoint.

For members that received Admirals Club pass... My member page says
VALID ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF SELECTION
.... However, when I click on the pass, it says
EXPIRES: FEBRUARY 28, 2021
big difference.... one year vs. three months. Does anyone know which is correct?

My AC day pass gift had a 2/28/21 expiration. I assume the two AC passes you can earn by flying in Jan and Feb gets you one year expirations.

For this promo Flight=segment if the segment has correct booking code. I was flying KOA-DFW-XXX booked in premium economy, This posted as 1 flight towards promo because domestic DFW-XXX has a coach booking code. Then I have a single itinerary with 3 segments in First and 3 flights were posted for the promo.

It appears I assumed incorrectly. From the promotion T&C:
  • Admirals Club® One-Day Passes earned through flight promotion expire 60 days after deposited in your wallet

Any idea if this might vary depending of offer? Mine, for instance, was 4 500-mile-coupons after completion of "4 flights", whereas it seems like some other offers required either flights in First, or were otherwise different.

My offer required 4 flights in First, Business, or Premium economy. My wife got the same offer and also qualified. I think 1 flight = 1 segment but I do not have hard data for other offers. My mother got an offer of double miles after just 2 qualifying flights in any class (but not award flights) but she is not planning on flying.

I have the same offer and I can confirm 1 flight indeed equals one segment. I have ATL-CLT-RDU in paid F so far and that got me 2/4 flights needed for the promo.
