I'm guessing that part of this itinerary is involving an extended layover: 6 or 8 hours? Depending on where the layover happens, might be enough time to go into the city (fingers crossed for Chicago).

Points prices are the same. What would you do?
It depends.........737 first class, so not that great.
How many hours in each aircraft? Is any of the economy in premium economy seating
Does taking the first class flights use a vacation day? (Thinking about this because I am holding a 1:35 PM reservation for a workday trip from DFW-FCO in late August, because I found 2 30K Economy tickets as soon as the booking date was available. I am now deciding whether or not to I want to take 1/2 vacation day)

So, 17 hours sitting upright with some personal space

vs.

11 hours sitting upright with not so much personal space but 6 hours to enjoy in a real bed.

I'd go for 11 hours.
Those extra last 6 hours feel like an eternity even in F (it is a recliner seat in the end).

I suspect those hours include non flying time, but I don't think first by 737 is that great
