Canceling award trip and reinstating miles (to merge)
Hi there,
We had booked a mileage ticket on American in Feb of this year. The trip is supposed to happen in Dec of this year but seems unlikely. If we cancel the mileage trip, will we get our miles back?

Yes. There may be a fee depending on status or waivers in place at time of refund request.

i’ve had it take 2-3 weeks. If you don’t see it within another week, I’d suggest sending a note to AA Twitter- IME they can usually speed it along.
