Security code (CVV) is required error message - Booking error
I am trying to book the last seat out of Miami for tonight (heading West), and I am getting this "wrong CVV" error no matter what card I use - even Paypal seems to fail.
Is anyone else having issues booking this AM? Is this a widespread issue?

I was able to successfully book an earlier flight (via Paypal)... very strange. I thought perhaps I was going after phantom availability, but even on the successful booking I got the CVV error and had to resort to Paypal.

I'm getting exactly the same thing at the moment on the AA.com site (1 year later than you) and I've tried different browsers. It refuses to take the security code I enter and comes back with a blank box.
Wondering if it's related to my use of a voucher to part pay for the ticket? The voucher applied ok.

I get exactly the same problem on the app too. I enter the CVV (473) and try to pay and it comes back saying I need to enter the CVV.

Have you tried putting the reservation on hold and finishing the booking with a phone agent? I'm sure they will waive the booking charge if you tell them about the error. If not, HUACA.

Thanks for the suggestion but it's already on hold. I expect to receive a call back from AA Customer Services shortly.

Well it was all entirely my fault. The AA agent tried and failed but with a different error that suggested the card wasn't valid. I then remembered Chase had issued me a new card for this account a while ago. As this is my first booking for a while I had forgotten. In my defense, the error on the AA website wasn't particularly useful. I found the new card.

The phone fee is for using an agent to book
