DFW/ANC Summer Seasonal 2020
Schedule shows a 321 for 2020. This past season it was a mix of 788 and 757. First Class nonstop is over $2600 for Summer '20. No Saaver seats in Y or J available.
Is this a case where I am too early to book? Is the 321 just a place holder? Prices will come down after new year?

Possibly the 321NEO will be put on that route? Does it have the legs? I'm assuming last summer with only 34 757s in the fleet the 788 was put on that route. As far as when to book? No way to know for sure. It's still 6 months out. I'd wait at least until January 2021.

Schedule for next summer will surely change given it's only October. I wouldn't pick any one flight based on aircraft type at this point.

AA has brought back ORD ANC for summer 2020. It was a route they use to service, and dropped for a few years. UA in 2019 added an additional non-stop ORD ANC, departing just one hour apart.
Maybe AA needs less seat capacity DFW ANC with the return of ORD ANC after a multi year hiatus. I flew MKE DFW ANC last summer, would of saved a bit of time if ORD was an option.
Maybe AA needs less capacity DFW ANC with ORD ANC added to the schedule; thus downshize from a 78X to a 321 NEO DFW ANC.

Yes, the 321neo can make it from DFW-ANC (they are using it from PHX-HNL later this year).
If demand is strong, I would expect them to add a second DFW-ANC frequency, rather than move to a 78X.
