That's what drives me nuts about domestic violence laws. The victims often don't press charges because they are so afraid of repercussions of doing so. It should be automatic that charges are filed whether the victim cooperates or not. The victim should also get access to counseling. And while this might not have caused severe injury, the thing about DV is that it often escalates and therefore every incident should be seen as severe

It says he was not arrested. Why not? He was clearly disturbing the peace and trespassing

Airlines are fast becoming flying asylums. The guy should have been arrested and BFL from AA.

The USA Today story on this indicates a flight attendant and passenger were hit by the laptop after the (lunatic) woman threw it. Possible the flight attendant was actually hit by the laptop?

I suppose AA could cancel his AAdvantage account and/or ban him.

And ESAs are the problem?
No one got any stitches

Can't believe this guy didn't get arrested after requiring 4 cops to physically restrain and remove him.

A ban from AA seems to be completely justified here as well.

Here's the article. I just love USA Today's version:

"You ain't gon' look at other women, and you ain't gon' tell me you're looking at other women," McLemore says, getting to her feet.

McLemore? Think she was born and raised in Ireland? lol

I wouldn’t be surprised if some guy started to complain on cable News that the Police tried to silence an average Joe fighting for his freedom to choose whatever seat he wanted and bother 150 people.

Following the UA incident there is certainly a higher degree of sensitivity when handling non-violent situations and there may have been health or mental issues that played into this situation which won't make it to the press that would make for even worse headlines for law enforcement.

Regarding the incident of the woman hitting her partner with a laptop, a comment on Lucky’s blog by someone who purportedly was on the flight says the man was acting like a complete perv and deserved what he got.

Not sure whether violence was the appropriate answer, but it does seem the story is more complicated than it might first appear.

Short of defending yourself from an immediate assault, not much else makes it acceptable to whack at someone with a laptop. Hitting a flight attendant and another passenger? She should have been arrested.
