AA127 (DFW-PVG) hit with hail... 4/13 Storm @ DFW
Sitting on the runway getting ready to take off and got pelted with hail. Looked like nickel size but hard to tell. Headed back to the gate for inspection.
I would attach a video but not sure I can?

call me lazy, but I really wish the posters would include cities rather than just flight numbers

Glad I am not traveling today. It's been bad all morning off and on in North Fort Worth. I wonder if any planes have been diverted to Alliance, as my DL flight was on Sunday. That was an interesting diversion for sure (and worked out, as AFW is minutes from home, where DFW is 20+).

It’s certainly been a mess together with delays. Delayed 5 hours and missed 2 connections. I finally experienced AA status pay off. Priority IRROPS handling was amazing today.

Wow that's pretty crazy! Looks like they tried to get to DFW before turning back:

I was trying to think of other airports that could handle the A380...I guess ABQ and ELP can't?
We had storms here in metro Austin earlier today, but it is sunny now...but quite windy.

GRK, Killeen/Fort Hood could probably handle the A380. But it looks like the storms were going on there too.
Edited to add:
Checked with a friend who works at AA. He said they diverted to PHX in case the flight ended up as a CXL:
1. More mechanics there who could work on the aircraft, if needed
2. More options for passengers to get out (certainly more than either ELP or ABQ).
