Gold Benefits After Losing Status
So I barely missed making Gold again this year and lost my status and it shows me as a normal AAdvantage member when I log in. I booked a flight and it allowed me to pick preferred seats for free. Kind of weird, but did not think much of it. I then checked in for my flight and my boarding pass was for group 4 and said I was Gold on it. Is this normal?

If the system does a sweep or you make a change, you may lose the Preferred seat. But, sooner or later the system will catch up. Until it does, enjoy the seat.

Once you get lifetime you never worry, when you slow down,..
