combining paid itinerary with rewards flight

I am traveling for work and was hoping to use miles so that my family can travel with me. Is there anyway to keep these trips linked together?

No. You can have them put notes in the PNRs but that only works if the agent reads them. You just have to be pro-active about any changes.
