Which Airbus A321 / 321 / 321T / A321neo / 32Q, A321XLR, Oasis, LAA, LUS, etc.
AA recently changed the nomenclature of the AA A321-200 fleet. Currently, AA lists the following in its schedules:
321: includes all Airbus A321-200 aircraft except the A321T / 32B transcontinental three class A321-200 and the new A321neo / 32Q / A321-253NX RC.
The internal designation 321H (ETOPS Hawaii service) will be replaced by A321neo as they become available; the Legacy American Airlines 321S two class standard Airbus A321-200 with Sharklets winglets and the Legacy US Airways A321 will be virtually indistinguishable as they’re all converted to the densified Project Oasis standard with Rockwell Collins MiQ First and Meridian Main Cabin / MCE seats.
unk: the new A321XLR (Extra Long Range) narrowbody longhaul replacement for 757, 767, 50 ordered June 2019. Deliveries pending 2023-2025.

The obsolete nomenclature was: 321, LUS A321 with conventional wingtip devices; 32B, LAA A321 with Sharklets wingtip devices. The 32B designation included A321H, -S and -T, making it confusing to know which A321 you were flying. Which Airbus A321 / 321 / 321T / A321neo / 32Q, A321XLR, Oasis, LAA, LUS, etc.

Currently AA is using the A321H (ETOPS), the ETOPS version of the A321S. No ETOPS LUS 321 version exists. The 32Q / A321neo that will be used on the Hawaii routes are “Oasis out of the box”.

I believe 32Q will be initially based in PHX only. So LAX flyers are not affected by oasis yet

Just checked in for my CUN-CLT flight for tomorrow. I did it on the iPad app and it goes through the seat selection process automatically. I was surprised to see that I was no longer sitting in the last row of F, but was still sitting in row 4. I know see 5 rows of 4 in F. All of row 5 shows as occupied.
I thought perhaps a neo, but those shouldn’t be flying from CLT, so thought perhaps Oasis 321. EF seatmap shows the same 5 rows in F and that the unlimited legroom row 23 has a lavatory on the left and 3 seats on the right and row 24 has 6 seats, but no unlimited leg room for A and F. Flight radar shows the assigned tail as N161UW, so definitely not neo, but have some 321s gotten the Oasis treatment?

The tail got switched to N579UW and the seat map prior to departure still showed 5 rows in F. Upon boarding, I noticed only 4 rows in F, so perhaps they are simply getting ready for Oasis type 321 and blocking* row 5 on the seat maps in case they utilize a standard non Oasis bird.
*EF showed the row 5 seats as occupied and not simply blocked.

Hello all -
I'm in First on a 321 from ORD-LAX in September. AA.com has the power icon listed by the flight, and the seat configuration has four rows in first. Which version of the 321 does this indicate for my flight... if you don't mind helping me out. Thank you so much in advance!

2-3 questions, has anybody ever measured the fold out tray for First Class on the LAA a321?
Will be going from MCO to DFW and I'll be doing design work on the flight thus need my laptop but it's 17in and I haven't been able to find info on the size of the trays in First Class (or if they are different from Economy).
The exact length and width of the laptop is 16.2 (L) x 12in (W) / 412.6 (L) x 304.9mm (W). Would charging (or just not having the battery drain to 0 while plugged in) be an issue issue? Charger is 250W.
And for a girthier passenger is an First Class aisle seat here wider due to the moveable armrest?
My mother is travelling with me and to avoid her complaining I want to be 100% sure of which seats offers the widest room now vs later, though I know takeoff/landing the armrest must be down.
I'm eyeing the 2nd row of C and D for her.

Informative post and Wiki.
Is there a timeline on this whole "Project Oasis" thing? Flying out of CLT, obviously a lot of direct flights on AA... I don't know if I'm more likely to be on LUS planes given the airport or if they're just randomly distributed, but the cabin refit can't come soon enough. Lack of seatback IFE doesn't matter to me, but lack of power is a real drain (pun intended!)

Which A321 is this seat map?
I can't figure out which A321 seat map this is on a JFK-CLT flight... thought it might be a 321neo but doesn't seem to be based on other FT thread. Ordinarily the 321 has several pairs of Y seats near the exit rows. On this seat map, the only pair appears to be row 10DE (have selected this), but am curious what this is. Could it be an oasis configured 321? It is also 20F...
