787-9 adding to 77W flights LAX-LHR next year as well.

With 20 more 788s and 22 more 789s coming on or about ~2020, we will see the 763 and 333 disappear, and more stations served with the efficient Dreamliners.

My 4 times or so flying AA to/from Zurich in the past two years all have been jetbridges.

It would be nice if AA schedules a PHL/MIA turn with the 788 for a/c utilization. I'm getting tired of looking at 738s, 321s, 763s and 319s.

I still dont understand (or necessarily agree) with the 333 retirement. They are younger than several 777s. They could be used for some more time, including leisure heavy routes if reconfigured.

the 767s are a disaster and need to go, but the 333s still have value, IMO.

Jetbrige on arrivals? This flight was called out for bus gates on arrival via those IAD “people movers”

767-788 = a net reduction of 8 Business seats... so while they make coach more comfortable they are taking away upgrade chances..

Ive not sat in a 787 in coach. Is it comfortable?

I've now done 3 787 flights - either business/first or premium economy. I will say thIs: I don't feel like I've been punched in the head when I get off of a 787 flight... The humidity level sure helps IMHO.

Is a hard stand really that much of a deal breaker? Something that takes 45 minutes tops out of a total experience of probably 12 hours from check in to walking out of arrival airport, I'm not sure why it's such a big deal, especially if the schedule works for you.

coach more comfortable? You’re kidding, right? I just flew a 789 and 764 TATL, and wider (and more padded) 764 coach seat was far more comfortable than the 789 seat.

It's YMMV. But I personally think that 787 has all the fancy entertainment systems and the seat is at least newer. Although 763 has wider seats and a 2-3-2 layout in Y, generally the seats are very beaten up and the paddings seem to show their age (feel strange). Plus there is more MCE on the 787, and they are usually not blocked for crew etc

Yes, the entertainment options are better on a 789. But that new seat isn't as well padded as the 767 seat, and narrower to boot. Since I bring my own entertainment with me, if I'm going to be in a tube for 10 hours, I value a comfortable seat as my first priority.
