DFW to CDG: no Premium Economy for sale?

DFW to CDG: no Premium Economy for sale?
Trying to book premium economy. Showing seats are available, but they are not available to be sold. AA platinum desk says they have no idea why? Any thoughts as to what is going on?

Welcome to FT. We need lots more info before anyone will even be able to guess what the issue is. What's the entire itinerary, and what are the dates of travel?

Or none are currently available for sale. If they're pushing buy-ups at check-in, they may be able to achieve greater revenue going that approach rather than selling it upfront.
Edited to add: if availability is thin on the return (coming back from CDG the Monday after Thanksgiving), it might only be selling round-trip W fares?

A vast majority of them are done but not all, perhaps they are waiting until day of departure to sell once they are more comfortable with the aircraft on the route.

At some point, this route swaps to a 787 (both 8 and 9) for the route. The 788’s are just now starting their refit to add PE and remove the J mini-cabin.
