BA Avios award on AA and Preferred Seats
Does anyone know if as an Executive Platinum, I use BA miles for an economy Domestic flight on AA (DCA-DFW) can I upgrade the seats to preferred seats?
I'm concerned that as its a free flight using BA Miles that my BA number will be locked in and my AA EXP status won't be allowed
Thanks for any advice/experience

I've redeemed BA points for AA flights. My BA number was populated in the record and couldn't be removed online, but with a Tweet or call to AA, I was able to swap in a different number and select seats/get baggage waivers based on my status. (I've swapped in both AS and AA, depending on which airline I had status with at the time.)

It doesn't matter that AA does not use Amadeus. If you book an AA award flight with BA Avios, you can definitely change the FFP in the record via the finnair.com website; I've successfully done so more than once.
