American's Vision for LAX
Very informative column from Cranky Flier
He spoke with Suzanne Boda, AA’s Senior Vice President of Los Angeles about operations, construction, improvements for employees, customers, plans for the AA LAX terminals, and so on. And this quote: "The operation is working well for now, but the passenger experience needs to be better."

T2/T3 are BEING essentially rebuilt by DL. T1 is going through it now. Short of a major airfield change there is little left to do but midfield concourse and redevelop existing terminals

Exactly what LAWA should be doing in a perfect world. Demolish everything mid-field and build a centralized terminal there (similar to DEN). Parking could be underground.

Well, should anyone take the time to read Cranky's article and interview, you'll see the list of things AA has determined were in seriously bad shape, the things they plan to spend money on along with the pretty large efforts by LAX.

"Oh, And the Operation Matters
The baseline for being able to compete requires an airline to run a good operation. The situation in Philly was far more dire when Suzanne arrived there, but American has had its struggles at LAX. She didnt mince words when I asked what was on her list of priorities. First of all, improving the operation. That was number one because you cant run a bad airline and continue to have your customers be loyal supporters.
