HELP: Can't Get Any With Online Access Problem
I can't update my AA account online.
If I try to update any of my personal info, it refuses, saying my username -- the very one I logged in with -- is INVALID.
If I try to change my username to one within the new standards, it delcares SUCCESS! But of course, nothing is updated.
Same invalid username.
You might think something like this would take a few minutes to fix with one phone call.
But in 2017, you can spend half the day on the phone and get absolutely nowhere.
As I've already done twice.
You already know the rest:
Transferred here,
transferred there,
music on hold, indefinitely ...
HUCA ...
And again ..
No one knows anything, but is sure that the next person will help.
At each stage, the person you're talking to assumes you're an idiot who must have typed something in wrong.
Round and round you go. And when -- or IF -- you finally get someone to realize you actually have a real, non-imaginary problem, they finally admit they know nothing and can't help you. Including the last resort -- the crack tech support team in the Philippines.
I realize being Lifetime Platinum nowadays gets you a cup of coffee at Denny's (with $2.49 in taxes and fees), but is there literally no way to ever fix this?
Really is a whole new world now.

Among your calls, did you reach Web Services? 800-222-2377 in USA-Canada, or see here. Not as good as it used to be, but worth a call - or two.
