There’s no way to vote with wallets
American - crappy product in many planes and will get crappier. Bad leadership (good international elite recognition )
Delta - the crappiest Rewards program (overall good customer service )
United - the most frustrating awards program. 1K upgradeless and a crappy product (easy to use miles )
No matter what your stuck with crap and we still have to fly

Right now, airlines are profitable because of good conditions - healthy economy, strong demand, low fuel prices, and minimal competition. Should there be a recession (only a matter of time), rise in fuel prices (real possibility), or a terrorist attack (I hope not, but can't ignore it), then it's bye-bye profits.
Parker's comment is as ridiculous as a certain former CEO's statement "there will be changes ahead, and I think you will like them".

Here's what he actually said -- "I don’t think we’re ever going to lose money again". Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's a difference between definitively declaring they won't lose money again and saying "I don't think".
