AA720 CLT-FCO diverted? (to merge)

AA720 CLT-FCO diverted? (to merge)
Can anyone tell me what happened to AA720 June 24 / last night?
Plane apparently took off & had to return to CLT.
We're in Rome waiting for plane to arrive & turn around as AA721 - got notified of incoming delay earlier this am.
AA customer service will only confirm delay..
I can see an EC261 claim in my future (for my AA721 fco-clt leg of course)

Looks like the flight departed at 0030. Comments indicate maintenance/no airflow into the flight deck.all systems normal. Now due into Rome at 1528.
