Problems issuing ticket using Concur, for a flight booked the same day of departure

Hello,

I booked a flight about 2:30-3:00PM, and had a scheduled departure of 5:30 PM.

I am familiar with the booking process using Concur (Amex Biz Travel), where the follow up e-mail is received with the invoice, confirming the ticket has been issued. But I did not get that e-mail.

I arrived at the airport at 5:00 PM, AA saw no ticket issued, and was unable to print the boarding pass. I had to call Amex Biz Travel, get them to...nudge the ticket, and then have AA rebook me on a later flight. It was my mistake for not showing up to the airport with sufficient time to potentially handle this issue, but that aside. My card was charged at 2:30-3PM, and it just seemed to be stuck in limbo.

1) Has anyone had issues getting Concur to issue tickets, when booking travel in the very near future?

2) Do you recommend just booking directly with AA in scenarios like this?

3) What is the rule, regarding cutoff times for purchasing tickets at the counter? I was in a position where I would have paid for the ticket a 2nd time, and just got the 1st ticket reimbursed, but they were unwilling to sell me a ticket.

Lastly, I just want to rant and say, ... Concur? You are a multi-billion dollar company owned by SAP..........

I think your problem is with AMEX and not Concur.

My company uses Concur with AMEX too. AMEX is responsible for the ticketing. When you reserve and pay on Concur your request goes to a queue in AMEX. They just did not get to it fast enough. Since my company requires me to go through AMEX, if I found myself needing a ticket for a flight in a few hours, I would call AMEX. I've found that they are generally pretty good.
