AA iOS App update release notes

I noticed today when updating the AA iOS app that the release notes stated that in this release that SFO was removed from the terminal maps, find services and navigation aids.

Why would they remove SFO? There is still a fairly large AA terminal there.

I saw the same thing and wondered that as well. I would think the more maps the better...

Reportedly SFO has demanded a significant licensing fee for the reproduction of its terminal map and AA does not want to pay it.

If you really need a SFO map, there is one on the United app.

I also saw the note and, as we fly out of SFO frequently, I wondered as well. Before applying the update, I looked at a reservation for Saturday. Within the reservation, DFW and MCO had blue hyperlinks to a map. SFO already (pre-update) did not have this link. It may have had a map elsewhere, but it already seems to have been a second-class citizen.

Cheers.

The SFO map was under the Terminal Maps section found under the main page.

Figured, thanks. But the fact that it wasn't linked to the reservation like the others already seems somewhat odd...even before the removal.

Cheers.

I flew out of SFO last week and it was hyperlinked from my reservation.

SFO asked them to do so.

My app still has a blue link but it won't load anything when clicking on it. I don't have a pending update for the app either.

But I have to agree, that is really lame of SFO.

Heaven forbid the terrorists know the secret location of the Auntie Anne's. I seriously hope there is a good reason beyond SFO wants money.

Having met the director of SFO, I doubt it.
