  • Admirals Club access: No announced or predicted access changes.
However, thirty day memberships are no longer available as of 25 Jul 2016, and One Day Pass cost has increased to $59. Annual Club memberships increased in price in 2016.

The foot stools are the best part of the new furniture. I think I first discovered them in Phoenix. Every time I use one, I get a comment to the tone of "I didn't know that was there!" from someone watching.

I asked in Miami this weekend. The agent said they hoped to open the D30 FL at the end of November. But I don't know if that jives with the info sent out by AA regarding the D30 closure mentioned by jcatman (unless they just need to close it for a few weeks to tie everything together).

Anyway, I enjoyed the guacamole at the D15 club.

My fingers are crossed it is open by mid Dec when I am there. Was a big fan of FL in JFK and excited to check out ORD's this week.

Spoke with an agent at the PHL Terminal A west (International) AC the other day. They now plan to start construction this January and the entire club will close (not just half the club as previously thought). They expect the construction to last a year, largely due to the extensive plumbing work needed to add showers and due to the fact that the entire facility sits on top of the A West C&I center (which makes things challenging).

What's going to be used in the meantime, the Greyhound Bus station?

It would be a step up, that's for sure.

A year? Which probably means more than that.

Ugh, I connect through PHL frequently and this does not bode well for seating/capacity issues. I'm thinking of ORD and EWR on the UA with lounge closures for refurbs. Yes, the end results are fantastic, but crowding is a nightmare. I wonder if there is any thought to pop up lounges, similar to UA's EWR and FLL, to alleviate some of the crowding. And the new Centurion lounge at PHX is only 6,300 sq feet. Not bueno.

It's really quite astounding to me how long airport lounge refurbishments require. There are entire, multi-story buildings that are completed, starting from scratch, in my city that take far, far less time than remodeling a 6000 to 10,000 sq ft airport lounge.

Regards

The problem with a temporary lounge.... Where would you put it? Maybe they could use the A-West gate lounge that can be sealed (was used for TLV) -- but then they are taking a FIS gate out-of-service. BA's lounge is not large enough to absorb everyone, Centurion is not huge, but it is 6,300 sq. feet more space than was there before...

Anyone hear any rumors on when DCA's terminal C club might undergo a renovation? I hope they aren't waiting for the new Eagle pier to be open. MWAA has stated a new Admirals Club will be opening in that pier, so it doesn't seem like they will be consolidating DCA clubs like rumored.

I was in it about 10 days ago and there were brand new sections open. Very strange that they would now close it completely, but indeed aa.com says it's "Temporarily closed".

Quick question regarding access... EXP flying in business on AA, entire trip on same itinerary.

I am connecting in ORD on my way to LAX to connect to my PEK flight the following day. Will I have flagship lounge access?

I am flying a really late ORD-LAX flight that lands in LAX past midnight. AA's website does specifically state "same day" but we know this is ambigious.

AA's website says the qualifying (international) flight must be same day, or before 6 am the next day.

Hmmm, they don't define the time zone. I'm sure it's 6 am somewhere.
