First Class Dog ?
This massive dog got a first class seat on an American Airlines flight
I didn't even realize this was possible. Wonder if he got a pre-departure bone?

Hey, if they actually bought it a seat then good on them. I had a CRJ torture tube flight to ORD once with a St. Bernard nearly that size sitting in the aisle. The owners had a support animal vest on the thing, of course, so the crew didn't say a word.

Am I missing something or is that the fattest St. Bernard living??

Waiting for the followup post where an FTer reports that a DYKWIA GLD complained how they should have gotten the upgrade, not the dog.
Or for a complain about the dog putting its paws on the bulkhead. Without socks.
But seriously, this is at LAX, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was some sort of celebrity dog.

Weight not good for his health but who will tell him he doesn't deserve a 1st class seat?
Does he have a little barrel of bourbon under his neck?

Ohmugosh, IceTrojan, the without socks comment gave me quite a chuckle. Thanks! I can't see from the picture...socks or no socks, perhaps he was wearing his "Rebarks".

That dog appears to be bigger than the size of my torso. That may be the photo tough.

That is a DOS if I've ever seen one - a Dog of Size. And he's heading toward the regional jets.

Dog will end up with a thread here, crying like an alcoholic toddler over the PDB and begging for miles.

The only thing I can wonder is why the dog isn't walking on the plane and is being wheeled.
It makes me wonder if he's sick. :-(

Just as I was thinking "I wonder why the news doesn't cover stuff like THIS" I read a mashable article.
They also confirmed he was in the bulkhead and that the woman purchased a ticket for him. No mention if PDB was served ;-)

UPDATE 7:40 p.m. ET: Mashable has learned that the dog's name is Hank and he belongs to Kari Whitman, an interior designer who founded Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue in Beverly Hills, California. Hank is Whitman's support animal and, due to an illness, can only move with the aid of a cart, which explains his weight. We hope Hank enjoys many more relaxing flights in first class.
