I've seen one AS flight inbound from Mexico use a gate at TBIT (presumably for immigration), and then be towed back to T6 for departure. This was over a month ago though.

The last time I took a AS E175 flight, we went to the remote stand by Skywest parking beyond Eagles Nest. I guess last flight of the day sometimes go straight to the Skywest remote stand.

But normal ops for AS E175 is to gate at T6.

FJ->DL connection

I think I'm ok on this, but appreciate the input:

Arrive FJ 1255. Depart domestic DL 1539. Separate tickets. That connection time OK?

2:44 should be more than enough time, even if the inbound FJ is a bit late. Of course, it also depends if you have checked bags you need to wait for, and how long the line is to clear immigration and customs (assuming you don't have Global Entry).

Those wondering on progress for LAX T4/T5 program

LAWA shared new information last week in this deck (look further in the deck for info on other non AA projects):
https://lawa.granicus.com/MetaViewer...&meta_id=54229

Some highlights on the phases and dates for T4 and some images of the demo closed areas in T4 - Headhouse is where the curbside from the public roadway/entrance to terminal

This the T4/5 Vertical Core building that will connect to the APM/Train station and allow T4 and T5 to be connected landside and airside (post security)

I don't know if this is for the duration of the headhouse construction or not, but the gate-level terminal exit was closed when I was through there last week, forcing us to the sterile FIS area to exit. It would have been much quicker to use the tunnel to baggage claim exit.

That FIS is NOT in use since the pandemic, so it's not considered sterile from CBP - it's being used as an exit path now from T4 since the headhouse exit is closed. This has been like this for a few weeks. For those wondering this exit comes up near the Admirals Club/Flagship First lounge to exit the terminal - it goes into the Gate 41 CBP/FIS pathway and through the FIS. They are using the baggage belts in the FIS also right now. CBP is NOT utilizing the T4 FIS for immigration or customs

Yes, thanks for the clarification. 'Sterile FIS' was intended as a geographic descriptor, since you had to -presumably, since I've never been through there in 'FIS mode'- go through the full winding FIS path. I would guess that it at least doubled the length of the exiting the terminal over the previous/usual path. Other than people guiding the way, there were no barriers or checks.

Airside check in

Is there an airside check-in for FJ, perhaps a lounge, where all doc checks can be done? Arriving domestic on a separate ticket and don't want to leave airside security if I can help it.

Admirals Club agents on the upper level (NOT at the club entrance/terminal/gate level) can do the document checks - there is normally two or more agents working that area and one agent working the Flagship separate area too.

Any reason you aren't using OCLI and Verifly?

But not for FJ.

Going to the gate would be the only possibility I know of, but not sure how soon before the flight it will be staffed.

Good catch - was thinking he was stating class of service still flying AA vs Fuji Airways

OP: JJeffrey is right, gate MAY be an option - but best bet in case of doc check only being done at check in is to go to FJ's check in. Not the answer you wanted to hear but you may put yourself in a bind hoping you can do it elsewhere. AA does NOT do any check in for FJ at LAX

He didn't elaborate where he was flying to - he said F/J - doc checks not needed for US domestic so he's not domestic - latam/mexico/canada flights now give Admirals club access in First or Business until it's rescinded (marked as limited time since 4/21 still listed here: https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...lub-access.jsp )

"FJ" is the code for Fiji Airways.

Now that said, not sure why the poster is asking about Fiji Airways check-in in the AA forum

Not sure where to put it. FJ as award ticket via AA, so I posted here.
