Megabus may have a $1 seat for your date.

OP, this is not the best use of miles. Just buy the ticket, is a short flight anyway.

Otherwise you can avoid the $75 close in booking fee by getting your award tickets more than 21 days in advance of travel if you want to use AA miles and aren't an AA elite.

You could drive from LA to Vegas but I suspect that several days of parking at some of the casino hotels on the strip would cost more than $80 including tips.
Parking is free at almost every strip casino. Not that this info helps the OP

They do? That's perfect for me to be able to get into work after a weekend bender.

That actually makes more sense to me than say a 6 or 7AM flight from LAS. The way I see it either way leaving Vegas that early your just not going to sleep, so I'd probably be less banged up at 3am than 6am

Parking at the Strip hotels is one of the few things in Las Vegas that remains free. Although some of the self-park garages can get pretty crowded at peak times.
