100 Hour Notification
 
Sorry to ask such a stupid question....but the 100-hour notification for EP Upgrades. Is it 100 hours from the flight? From some other reference point?

I am at approx. 60 hours for a flight next week and have heard zip.

100 hours before the flight's scheduled time. If you're an EXP within that window and haven't heard (and you did request an upgrade), then either the upgrade hasn't cleared or the notification isn't working (check your seat online).

But, as an EXP, I have to request an upgrade?

I thought it was automatically "requested?"

(God - I am missing my DMC!)

You're right, they are automatically requested now, except in some circumstances (e.g. travel on AA with companion).

AA only notifies you when your upgrade clears. They do not send a "no upgrade available yet" email at the start of the upgrade window like US did.

There have also been some reports of missing emails even for cleared upgrades, so there may be some IT problem.
