What happened to the HOLD a ticket option on AA? [still there]

has this disappeared with the merger?

No, I used it yesterday. Keep in mind you can't always hold with certain partners, and I think you might not be able to hold within 7 days of the flight any more (I never book this close in).

I ran into this on a recent purchase -- on flights within 7 days, the option does not appear. To be honest, it would be a lot clearer if they'd just say "Hold not available for this itinerary" when that happens.
