AA's DFW employees have been told by management that taking photos of the 787 on Friday is strictly prohibited. Management must be really pleased with all the photos taken of the plane in Seattle over the last few weeks. :D

The article mentions revenue flights won't begin until the Q2. What could be taking just over two months to commence commercial flying besides the acceptance check? Is it still the FAA certification of the J Class seats?

According to All Things 787, American's next three Dreamliners, N801AC, N802AN, and N803AL, are all undergoing Pre-Flight Prep and should be delivered to American before the end of March. Not sure what all this means, but shouldn't international service begin sometime this summer? Wouldn't the certification of N800AN accelerate the service entrance of the next three air frames?

Please see AA (internally) announces first B788 route for route and inaugural flights information. (From the wiki.)

I'm not positive, but my WAG/S is that a few dozen AA pilots still need to accumulate a few hours and practice some takeoffs and landings. They've had extensive simulator training, and now it's time for some real-world flying before they take 200 passengers to Paris or Tokyo. Probably takes a few weeks to accomplish that.

I believe the pilots did the same sort of practice when the A319s/A321s began arriving. Right now, the pilots have the sim time, but zero actual takeoffs and landings and zero hours in the type. Some practice couldn't hurt.

Anyone know why the delay? Just curious, on a brand new plane surely it isn't mechanical.
