Do Gold flyers receive a card from AA?

I made it right on time to get 25'000 miles a year for the first time.

Will I receive a member card from AA or they start to give it only from Platinum?

You should get one, but there is no need for one.
And, to avoid confusion, you need 25000 Elite qualifying miles.

Perhaps using a business class check-in on a partner airline? You're right though, I can't really think of a time when it would be needed...

If you have a smartphone, you can display a virtual version of your Gold card on the AA app.

Per the AA Twitter, there's currently a delay of about 8 weeks between qualifying for Gold and receiving the membership materials. I qualified about 6 weeks ago and I'm still waiting.

FWIW, I never received one for 2014. Although as other posters said, there is little need for it and I can't remember really missing it this year.

Qualified on my recent COS-DFW-LHR-CDG-AMS-LHR-DFW-COS jaunt. The "card" was displayed in Passbook (iPhone 6+) the first time I logged in to the AA app.

I believe my Gold card was received a month or two after qualifying this year. I've recently qualified for Platinum but haven't received that card yet.
