AAdvantage Aviator Silver and Red Cards from BarclayCard
There are five AAdvantage-linked Aviator-branded cards by Barclaycard. Two of them can be applied for directly, the other three are upgrades or downgrades after receiving a Red card. The Many Flavors of Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator
Where can I see information on all available Barclays Barclaycard AAdvantage cards?
Aviator Red (On AA.com)
Aviator Silver (On AA.com)
Aviator Business (On AA.com)
Red cardholders may receive an offer to upgrade to Aviator Silver after a period of time that varies, usually 3-11 months. The offer appears in the online "Offers" section, if it is declined there may be no simple way to receive the upgrade. Be careful with your clicking! Silver benefits begin at the start of the next statement, but the increased annual fee won't hit until the next card-member year starts.

I'm also planning to keep my Silver card for another year, but I'd also like to point out that the Citi Prestige 5x back on airfare might be a compelling option for some other people who are spending in the neighborhood of $15k on airfare. I would value that at more than 3x AA miles, personally.

Has anyone received 2018 EQM/EQD for spend thresholds met after their December 2018 statement closing date but on/before 12/31/18? I've already received the RDM for my statement that closed 1/8/19 but not the EQM or EQD. Think I read somewhere in this thread that EQM/EQD posting happens around the 10th?

I don't have this card, but had considered getting it prior to the changes. That said, sad that they can't consistently deliver on such a simple benefit. I mean, I'm assuming Barclay has, like, computers, right? This should simply be programmatic and automated. Crazy.
Hope it posts for you soon.

As the annual fee posted on 12/31, I just called in to see if they had any update on the card changes, but they're staying tight lipped. Asked about options to waive the annual fee or downgrade and they wouldn't do either, however they did offer 5,000 miles for $1,000 spend within the next 90 days or $100 statement credit for $1,000 spend in each of the next 3 months.
Since they allow the annual fee refund up to 60 days after posting if you close the account, I just decided to take the 5,000 mile offer and wait it out a bit longer to see if they release any new benefits.

BTW, my account is over 3 years old but still shows the "up to $6,000 in EQD" earnings as before even though the EQD benefits (past/present) are gone...wondering why they would miss something that simple...
Did they grandfather ALL open Silver cards for CY 2019? I thought it was only those opened from beginning to mid-2018.
cheers!

That's correct. I already had plenty of EQDs and was hoping that they would post in 2019.. Hit the 50K spend on 12/29/18. Just checked and AA credited the additional $3000 EQDs to 2018, not 2019. Oh well. Glad it works out for others who were counting on it for 2018.

I'd like to know the definitive answer to this question as well. Have a February renewal coming up, and I converted the card to Silver sometime in 2016, IIRC. I intend to cancel next month if the $3000 EQD benefit at 25K spend is gone as the card has no value for me without it.
