Future US-ordered A-321s and AVOD
Curious if there's been a final decision to have AVOD installed in future PMUS-ordered A321s. I recall there being some possibilities about this? The investor presentations on the AA Investor Relations website indicated a standardization of the narrow body fleet interiors. Does this include AVOD for all future narrow body deliveries, not just PMAA aircraft?
Also, have there been any decisions on adding some form of inflight entertainment in current PMUS narrowbody aircraft. My apologies if this was recently covered and I missed it somehow. Thanks!

I know what you mean; however, US Airways restored inflight entertainment to domestic routes to align with PMAA. Of course, this is only on aircraft that actually have IFE aboard (757, 767-200ER, and the A-330s). My cynical detection gear is in full force now that the Parker and Kirby show are in charge of the combined AA. I have my healthy doubts they have any intentions of offering domestic IFE anywhere like DL does.

I do not believe that there are very many more pmUS (or LUS, for Legacy US) A321s on order. The ones that have been arriving don't have IFE (IFE is on the pmAA A321s, the 32S). Last I heard, no immediate plans to install domestic IFE on the pmUS narrowbody fleet.
US hasn't even announced when MCE installation begins on the pmUS mainline fleet, or when in-seat power will be installed on that fleet, so I don't imagine that the fleet will see any retrofit of IFE in the short-term.

I can confirm this is true as I flew on a brand new US A321 this week. American livery painted on the fuselage and US branding (sans flag) on the interior. No IFE or power.

I just flew on a new AA 737-800 with the AVOD and leather seats. I thought the seats were extremely comfortable (was in Y) and the AVOD worked great. Let's all throw some feedback AA's way that they need to continue this. DL has done a top notch job installing AVOD on its fleet.

Just an FYI, even if it was a newly delivered plane, there's no way they would have AVOD or power. These PMUS planes are delivered to the original contract as it would be too costly and too late in the game to change the seat order.

IIRC DL's IFE for Y is pay for movies and other specials. AA gives a movie free on longer domestic routes (charges if someone in Y needs a headset and yes the movie usually sucks). Now I realize most people just download movies on a tablet but why not another source of revenue.
