APFA Announces a Tentative Flight Attendant Agreement (merged threads)
APFA is thrilled to report that the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) has reached a Tentative Agreement that leads the industry. Through 150 days of expedited bargaining, it has been the JNC’s goal to secure the highest wages and best work rules of any network carrier and we are proud to report that the goal has been reached. Next week, the APFA leadership will be meeting in Washington, D.C., to review the T/A at a final page-turn. Soon after, the Executive Committee will vote on whether to send the T/A to the membership for ratification.

A drop more info on this (published in our newsroom earlier):

American Airlines, Flight Attendants Union Reach Tentative Agreement
...Details of the agreement were not released although the union said that the airline had “stepped up in a way that puts the entire industry on notice.” The union said it will first be reviewed by its executive committee. If approved, it will be sent to the membership for a vote with a 30-day balloting period. A simple majority is all that is needed for approval...

AA's top pay in 2003 before the "Restructuring Participation Agreement" was $54.05/hour up to 70 hours per month and then $62.16/hour for any flying over 70 hours -- this was for the international operation. Domestic pay was $50.59 and $58.18 respectively.

This will cause MAJOR headaches for LUV management, who are in protracted negotiations with their FAs.
I also believe that the gains will be short-lived, as Parker and Kirby will find a way to gut it at the first sign of an economic downturn.

Interestingly enough, Delta announced early profit sharing distribution yesterday as well as raises for front-line employees.
The timing might have been coincidental but Delta surely knew that the AA FA T/A details would come out this week.
This was published earlier (in our newsroom).

Delta Announces Early Profit-Sharing Payout and Raises
On the same day that the executive committee of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants gave its stamp of approval to a proposed “industry leading” contract covering both American Airlines and US Airways flight attendants, Delta Air Lines announced plans to give its frontline employees a significant raise in pay in 2015...

I'll give you $90.00 an hour. No problem.
Now watch how fast I can take $40.00 back with work rules.
The union is pitching the hourly rate and not disclosing the work rules. Unions are famous for doing this. Wait until the work rules are disclosed before making a decision.

I don't see anything in that agreement that says AA FAs must provide a proper pre-departure beverage service like their US counterparts....guess we are stuck with water/OJ despite worse meals...better contracts for employees and the customer still wins?
