change fee question?

My boss asked me today to approach US air/American and see if they will agree to not charge a change fee because of how much we fly.....he swears United doesnt charge a change fee (I dont beleive him).
Is there any possibility that any airline other than SW would ever NOT charge a change fee??
Thanks

1. Nobody cares how much your company flies. They care how much you spend. How much does your company spend per year on US & AA?

2. Most carriers -- all the legacies -- offer fully changeable fares. Change your reservations as much as you like and no fee. Anybody can book them. Just look on the website.

3. If you fly enough under #1, you can negotiate a discount with US-AA. But, that will all depend on how many millions your company spends.

OK, gotcha. to most of the places I fly, there is a several hundred dollar difference between those fares...so I suppose the $200 change fee is a relative bargain.
Thank you.

We are not charged change fees on any of the major airlines. If you have a dedicated travel department, they should be making their living by negotiating discounts, special fares, fee exemptions, etc.

AS waives change and cancellation fees for MVP Gold and 75K members. It's not just WN at least!

Just to clarify - Is he confusing change fees with Same Day Change(SDC) fees or do you truly mean change fees for anytime? If truly change fees see the previous posts on how many millions your company spends on travel to negotiate that.

UA does not charge elites (I think Platinum and 1k get the benefit not sure about Silver/Golds) SDC fees so he may be thinking of that. US also has the moveup within 6 hours for any level of elite status assuming same number of connections and same origin/destination with seat availability. SDC fees are a far cry from UA or US not charging customers change fees though.

He was not talking about same day change fee--he claimed as a silver united he was not charged a change fee ever, which I simply dont believe.
I have to say though, that I dont look more favorable on US air for offering "flexible fares" that are 3 times what the non-refundable are. JMO.
