Just renewing this thread, can confirm that LAN Biz Avail is virtually nil. Could have sworn I saw something a few weeks ago on ba.com.

Just today I ticketed a January 11 SCL-MIA on the 787 in C. Also put a March 29 SCL-MIA in C on hold. There were several days in late March that had a handful of seats for award redemptions. What routes are you looking at?

You're right alex, there is some avail for the scl-mia routes. It was refreshing to see at lease one flight have a J avail. I was actually looking at lax-lim, cant find a single date that works.

Phantom availability on both BA and JL website?
 

I used both BA and JPL to search Cathay seats HKG-SFO. Found several direct flights with availability on both sites on the same dates in Decmeber. I was really excited and called AA to book the award, but agent said no availability for the entire month of Dec from HKG-SFO, including connecting flights. Does anyone else have the same experience? Is there anything else I can do?

Did you give the agent the exact dates and flights? I've called before and given dates and airlines and an agent couldn't find it. HUACA'd, got a different agent, and gave flight numbers. That agent found it.

Apparently, there are different ways an agent can search for the award availability (I believe I've read that here).

So, my advice: hang up and call again.

I had the same experience. KVS showed F availability on a certain LHR-HKG CX flight early June. Called four or five times to the EXP desk but to no avail. They could not see it.

Finnally got it! HUACA'd. At first the agent told me there was no flight available late dec (not even with connections, turns out he was searching for the wrong direction (SFO-HKG instead of HKG to SFO).
For SFO-HKG leg. No direct flight available on the date I wanted, so I asked agent to search for LAX-HKG as I found some availability on BA site, then combined with a US Airway flight SFO-HKG I found on AA site. Score!
I am so excited!!! Now I have five months to look forward to my first ever first class seat. It's going to be grand. Thanks for the tips I saw in this forum otherwise I would have given up after the first try (in fact, I prob wouldn't even call-would have given up after O searched AA's site.)

IB award shows available on KVS (below) but AA cannot see it. Quantas web site also show availability.
Tried 3 times with different reps but same results. Appreciate any advise?

Have you tried searching via BA?

Phantom IB availability is common using the Oneworld method which is based on QF. If the flights show on both the Oneworld and BA methods then they are usually visible to AA (but not always).

Also, there is no q in Qantas.

There no "u" in Qantas, but there's most definitely a q ;)
