Requests for access are inappropriate and will be summarily deleted.

This thread has been established in the interests of forwarding community, so members with lounge access who choose to extend access to other FlyerTalk members may do so easily. /American Airlines AAdvantage forum Moderator Team
NOTE: Offering to guest in members for cash or consideration violates the FlyerTalk community ideals and FT Rule #10 (in part, "FlyerTalk is not a marketplace and nothing may be offered for sale or barter.") and will result in suspension of FlyerTalk membership and privileges.

Link to American Airlines LOUNGE DASHBOARD thread / lounge directory links.

Format for wiki entries:

INTENTION / DATE / TIMES / AIRPORT / TERMINAL (and LOUNGE TYPE if needed) / handle (and number of guestees if applicable)

For the convenience of those voluntarily updating this wiki, please post your MEETUP or OFFER wholly in the correct format, so that it's simply a matter of copy and paste. If you wish, you can copy and paste and simply edit the info.

Typing it in this way also keeps the info somewhat aligned, making for easier skimming of the list.

Format is obviously irrelevant in cases of 'sitting in X AC now, if anyone wants a chat' and such posts are still most welcome!

If terminal is unknown (á la DFW), perhaps a PM conversation will be required on the day.

Should anyone be interested, all the whys, wherefores, and who-stolen-froms regarding the format we've chosen can be found in post 3 of this thread.

Some examples:

MEETUP / 01-JAN-2001 / 12:30-13:00 / ORD / T3 FL / arsey00
MEETUP / 03-APR-2001 / 18:00-19:45 / LHR / T3 any F / arsey00
OFFER / 05-MAY-2001 / 07:00-08:45 / DFW / PM for term info / arsey00 x2
OFFER / 12-DEC-2001 / 05:00-06:00 / PHX / any AC / arsey00 x2

Offers for non-AC oneworld lounges would look like this:

OFFER / 01-JAN-2001 / 10:00-12:00 / HKG / CX Wing / arsey00
MEETUP / 01-JAN-2001 / 11:00-14:00 / DUB / T1 DAA / arsey00
OFFER / 01-JAN-2001 / 13:00-14:00 / LHR / T5B Club / arsey00
MEETUP / 01-JAN-2001 / 13:30-15:30 / MIA / E OW / arsey00

When posting OFFERs and MEETUPs, please keep the following in mind:

As we all well know, plans change, often at the most inopportune moments. If someone offers to guest and is unable to (or simply chooses not to), we should remain polite. It is, after all, the discretion of the guester to offer as they see fit/are able.

As an OFFER can be construed as a MEETUP but not vice versa, if you only wish to meet other FTers, please post your info as a MEETUP.

If someone is offering guesting into an AC and someone else comes along with an offer to guest into FL, it might be polite to consider that first guester, as well.

Please use the strikethrough code to signify when an offer has been taken, so the possibility for others who might be passing through to meet up remains.

This wiki should eventually be self-sustaining. Anyone with more than 90 days membership and 90 posts and the confidence to do so can edit wikis and should feel free to add their own offers.

Anyone who updates a group of offers should post that they have done so:
'Wiki updated to post XXX'
so the next person knows where to start from. There are times, even for those with wiki-editing privileges, it isn't possible to update such as when one is hurrying through the terminal or using their phone to view FT.

**Information about lounge locations and access can be found on the currently-work-in-progress AA Lounge Dashboard. Hat-tip hat-trick to JDiver, Prospero and Grand Union**

Guide: Admirals Club / Flagship Lounge etc. Meet Up & Guest Offer

Welcome to the Admirals / US Airways Club and Flagship Lounge Meetup Thread

Please take a few moments to read the terms and conditions here, as these may vary from other, similar threads on FlyerTalk.

A number of members have requested this feature, so we have responded.

This is a new venture for this Forum given that previous threads have tended to become argumentative or / and inject inappropriate personal commentary about other members. We are all in favor of enhancing community, and we will be firm adhering to the TOS / Guidelines and Rules for FT and for this thread in support of that goal.
● The purpose of this thread is primarily to function as a social, community-building tool, not primarily a way to gain free access to the AC, even though that may be offered. It should ideally be used most by people who are already both AC members, or those with admission legitimized by itinerary and status, deciding or offering to meet up.

● Making an offer of guesting others in is permissible under AA Admirals Club Terms and Conditions, and so it is here. The AC / FL agents are there to enforce admission policies, so we will leave it to them to do so. (Discourse on how those members offering are going to cause financial hardship to the AC or deny legitimate members services will be treated as off topic / dilatory.)

● Please list date, time frame, specific lounge, number of guests you can host and any requirements (e.g. "must be flying onward on oneworld", etc.)

● Note most lounges require guests to depart when their host departs; some guest requirements by access or class of service may have further requirements guests be flying out on oneworld flights, etc. It is your responsibility to assure you will meet these requirements.

● We have decided for the moment to not allow posts solely asking to be guested into the lounges at this time. If a member specifically offers guesting, please PM that member, and do so respectfully.

● Those posts not meeting the T&Cs will be summarily deleted.
Thank you, and enjoy. If you have suggestions on changes that you feel would make this thread (or our Forum) more effective, welcoming or information-friendly, feel free to contact our team by PM or using the Alert a moderator function.

LAX Flagship Lounge ~3:00 - 6:30 PM Thurs 22 March 2012 (for AA 136 to LHR)

American Airlines LOUNGE DASHBOARD
Graphical interface guide to membership, access by various methods, lounges, etc.

AA Forum Help Desk: Lounge Access Rules Tips and information about lounge access:

Code:
oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status

Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world as an
equivalent oneworld Emerald or Sapphire frequent flyer member. Members
of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of
oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status can use any lounge offered by any
oneworld airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by
any oneworld member airline*, no matter in which cabin class they are
flying.

(* oneworld flights do not include codeshare flights with non-oneworld
airlines, even those marketed by a oneworld Member but operated by a
non-oneworld carrier or those operated by a oneworld Member but
marketed by a non-oneworld carrier)

Emerald tier frequent flyers can use First Class, Business Class or
frequent flyer lounges.

Sapphire tier frequent flyers are welcome in Business Class or frequent
flyer lounges.

As an Emerald or Sapphire member, your lounge access is regardless of
which cabin you are flying in.

Emerald and Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the
lounge.

You must be prepared to show your frequent flyer membership card, with
oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status, to access a lounge.

Access to First Class lounges is restricted to passengers flying in the
lounge operator’s First Class cabin or to cardholders with oneworld Emerald
status, regardless of which oneworld airline or cabin they are flying.

The following exceptions apply:

American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling travellers to pay
to gain access to their lounges. These programmes are not part of the
oneworld agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to
access lounges under the oneworld agreement.

American Airlines AAdvantage® members, regardless of their tier status,
cannot access lounges when travelling on North American itineraries within
or between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas,
Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members cannot access Qantas Domestic
Business Class Lounges.

Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent
class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. (First Class
passengers may be accompanied by one guest travelling on a flight
operated and marketed by a oneworld airline).

Customers flying in Economy class on the domestic or intra-European
segment to connect to or from a oneworld longhaul First or Business
Class flight can also use the lounge applicable to the class in which
they are travelling the longhaul segment.

Exception: American Airlines AAdvantage® Program members,
regardless of their tier status, may not use lounges when travelling
solely on North American itineraries (defined as within or between
the USA, Canada, Mexico [except Mexico City], the Bahamas, Bermuda
and the Caribbean). In these cases, access rules are governed by
American Airlines' own rules (i.e. paid lounge-access membership).

Also note: These rules may not necessarily apply to third party
operated lounges, particularly as relates to guest privileges or
when flying on onewrold codeshares operated by non-oneworld members.

Happy New Year...

A new year for guest offers and meet ups! And a new wiki to keep it easier to find those wonderful guest offers and plan meet ups.

**In an attempt to simplify guesting/offers/meetups, I have blatantly stolen from the very organised and easy to read BAEC guesting forum (note: I have not included REQUESTs, as The BA folks do, per the rules of this thread). Any and all suggestions or offers of improvement welcome, as is help keeping it updated. Please note, more lounge information is available in posts 1 and 2 of this thread.**

So, you've arrived here...

...and seen that suddenly we've created a wiki and gone and changed everything. Or maybe you're new to this forum and are considering joining in the fun of meeting other FTers in the wild and are looking for more detail. Have no fear, we have the explanations you desire. A few decisions had to be made for clarity's sake, and as I said above, I stole those decisions directly from a functional, easy-to-read guesting thread. Here are a few notes on what is different and why, and a few standard requests:

Why is it like this?

Format--Boring? Tedious? Yep. But it does make for easily figuring out who will be where when you will be. So yes, there is now a format to adhere to. Click up there to 'View Full Wiki' and take a look. It's now much quicker and easier than trawling through several pages, hoping to see your travel dates mentioned (and hoping those dates are in the format you're accustomed to). Examples of several types are given, or you can copy and paste an existing offer and modify the details.

To avoid confusion and unnecessary correspondence, I've gone with a 24 hour clock and the three letter month abbreviation. Yes, it's slightly tedious, but so is answering PM requests for 8pm when you're there in the morning or planning to meet someone on the 2nd of March, when they actually plan to be there on 3rd February. And it's not terribly different than typing out '4pm on Saturday the 14th of June' anyway, as many posters who have been here a while already do.

Terminal info is, admittedly, redundant in many cases. But as many of us are oneworld flyers as well as AA flyers in this era of JBAs, mergers and codeshares, guesting at some airports would require it (LHR for example, as one can access T5 only with a BA or IB boarding pass). For airports with more than one AC and terminal/concourse isn't always known (DFW, PHX, JFK etc), PM could be used in place of T-X, prompting any potential meeter-uppers to ask directly.

The two possible intentions in this thread are OFFER and MEETUP. If you wish to guest another traveller into the lounge, post an OFFER. If you only wish to meet other travellers, or will use all your guesting slots for colleagues/family/friends, post a MEETUP. If you would like to do both, you should post as an OFFER, as anyone scanning the wiki entries could still PM you for meet up as they will see that your times and dates match theirs.

For similar reasons, if you're a more-the-merrier type of person, please use strike through to signify your offer has been taken rather than deleting the offer. This way anyone else travelling through your airport at the same time will still see your plans and can PM.

Should we play nicely?

It is up to the guestor and guestee to choose what level of personal info they feel comfortable exchanging. Some will not wish to give out telephone numbers and will want to meet at a designated place. Some will not wish to meet because it can be time consuming, only wanting to exchange numbers. Guesting a stranger into a lounge is a kindness, and the offerer is under no obligation to do so. If guestor and guestee don't see eye to eye, the offerer has every right to make whatever decision they wish. Please respect that.

Similarly, the life of a frequent traveller can be unpredictable. Plans which stand firm for months go up in a puff of smoke at T-2. Please also respect that a change in plans could happen at any time, and your guestor or guestee might be just as frustrated as you. Possibly more. Probably more.

For those who are making offers to guest into a Flagship AC or other F Lounge, don't forget that anyone offering to guest into a regular AC or other J lounge sharing your time and date might like to be 'guested up'. Especially as they are showing the same generosity you are.

Can I help?

Short answer, yes! If are making an OFFER, suggesting a MEETUP or happen to be passing through and see an offer not yet in the wiki, please feel free to catch us all up. Anyone with 90 days membership, 90 posts, and not using their phone to view the thread can click 'edit' on the bottom right of the wiki box. Suddenly the wiki will appear in code. Don't understand the code? No worries. BB code is copy-and-paste-able.

Currently, there are threads for lounge meets for other airlines in their own fora. I can see already that there are a few of us using more than one meet-up thread. It is entirely possible that a guestor has acquired a guestee in another thread. Your thoughtfulness in striking through your offer on all threads you use is appreciated.

Who does Arsey00 think she is?

No one. I haven't even been around for three years yet (I'm the idiot who, despite flying frequently for 20 years before discovering FT, is earning my MM status almost entirely BIS). My post count is still only three digits. But I appreciate what I've learned here and am glad to be able to do a little something to give back.

As stated above and also in the thread during the process of making changes, I've got no proprietary interest in this thread, wiki or format. Wikis belong to all forum users. If you've got an idea, opinion, or suggestion, by all means do say so. The BAEC forum works pretty well, is easy to read, and has facilitated many meetups. That's why I chose to copy their ways. But we are AA, so we'll do things our way. There may be hundreds of things I haven't thought of that will improve our thread!

On a similar note, as wikis belong to all forum users, I'd actually prefer not to be seen as The Person Who Does That Lounge Wiki. Please, please also feel free to help keep this one up to date. If you see an offer that hasn't been added for whatever reason (offerer was on their phone or has too few posts, etc) and you feel able to, please, edit away!

Currently in the DFW A Club. Will be here for another hour. I can't guest anyone, but I'm always happy to say hi to people. I'm in a tan coat over by the windows in the main seating area.

IMHO, I think the BAEC thread is more user friendlier than what we have here. To have all the info in one place rather than digging through the threads.
