Both my EXP tags broke in about a year. My AC tags are still intact and had them for almost 7 years.

Oh, we're telling the truth here.
My DW, a PLT, flew a 4 day TATL a few weeks ago and took my rollaboard with her. I asked her if she wanted to take my AC/FT/EXP tags off.
She, the same lady who thought I was being ridiculous by focusing on earning status, wanted to keep my tags on as she traveled.
Go figure.

AA Platinum Luggage Tag Broken on Checked Baggage
I was on my way back from Barcelona to New York and when i got my checked luggage found my AA PLT Luggage Tag in half, who knows where the other half is. I wonder if AA will give me one for free.

I'd send AA an e-mail off the web site and see what happens. I've never put one of those on my checked bags as I didn't think they'd last long (not that I check bags very often--here in Ireland with a carry on).

Are these the same as the BAEC ones? Credit card size? Thin plastic? Little "leatherette" strap?
Hand luggage only for me if they are... Although do you not have the option to order them yourself online? I think we can order either one or two replacements for Exec Card and Luggage Tags per membership year...

All plastic unless it has the proper retardant chemicals added during creation will eventually react to the UV in sunlight. No problems with the AA cards but my much older QF cards are finally snapping (7-8 years)
On a side question: What happens card wise when an EXP crosses a MM boundary?
