Booking on Iberia

I've been trying to find availability on Iberia for next June, but don't know where to look. AA won't find availability for city pairs.

I'm trying to go MAD>BIO>PMI>BCN in June of next year.

Any advice on where to look would be appreciated.

AA agents won't look, or AA agents can't find?

AA agents said I couldn't use points for Iberia because of a problem with integrating Iberia into One World.

Is this true? I can't use AA miles on Iberia?

Iberia hasnt been integrated into the new one way awards. You can still use them on a OW award.

Can you do an open jaw on a OW award?

You need to use one more member airline other than IB in order to use OW award, not counting AA.

In this itinerary, that does not seem possible to use 2 OW member airlines.

True, but he can add a BCN-LHR on BA and stay under 1500. The problem is that you will end over 700 miles away from your desired final destination (unless you plan a trip to London anyway sometime in the year after you start the trip).

Good point. Haven't thought about that.

Though it would mean a 30K miles for a coach award, versus a 2 x 10K miles on 2 one-way All Partner award.

Do you really want to fly Iberia? I mean, I know some people here like it, but most Spaniards, including myself, hate it. I just flew MAD - MIA and the crew couldn't have been more unprofessional.

What other choice the OP has, since he is using AA miles for award ticket?

I would love to hear your suggestion to do OP's itinerary on an AA award without flying IB.

On an award ticket, of course the OP is limited, but if I were the OP, I would pay to fly Spanair on this itinerary since it is much nicer than Iberia.

The said flights are sub-$300 on Air Europa. Thats probably the best option since I can't use the 1-way awards.
