Lots of cancelations to JFK [Mar 1-2 2009]

A few minutes ago, I got a call that AA22 has been canceled. I called to get on one of the three later flights. One-by-one 180, 10 and then 30 were all canceled. So, I get to spend an extra day in LA! I guess the weather is going to be really bad in New York tomorrow.

We are expecting six to 10 inches of snow starting tonight here in NYC.

Weather.com forecast for JFK.

Accuweather forecast for Manhattan.

This is true, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Logan is. The wind blows the wrong way there and they shut down a runway.

I'm at ORD waiting for AA 2340, departure currently delayed an hour. No worries, had time to catch up on my mail at the AC!

I love a good weather thread. We haven't had one for a while.

Me too. As I am very concerned about the impact of excessive sunshine and pleasant weather here in DFW for tomorrow.

We got some friends here stuck with us at the Riviera Maya. They will try to make it to NYC tomorrow, but it is not looking good.

Especially since the weather isn't perfect here either. 73 degrees and clouds. Not beach weather at all

73 degrees sounds pretty nice right now ill take the clouds!

Your friends are gonna need some amazing luck to make it back to JFK tomorrow. Major wind is predicted after the snow ends. The blowing snow could make it tough to keep the runway clear even after it stops snowing

This truly is FT at its best. How else would we know that the prediction of a foot of snow in NYC could lead to flight cancellations?

no snow ... yet

I think its supposed to have started already? There's been lots of times when snow just misses us after doom and gloom prediction. maybe this will be one of them.
