This reminds me of Seinfeld when Elaine tried to sneak into first class. A classic episode that was.

I am not sure about AA but I think it could work on other airlines. On Emirates, if you are downgraded (happens a lot ) and F/J seats open up at the gate, often the GAa will simply cross out your Y seat no and replace it with a J one. This has happened to me 2-3 times. Each time on board I was asked for my boarding pass. Once they thought I was scamming (I showed them my J ticket) and the other two they said "oh okay" and walked off. I have no doubt that someone could artfully create a situation in which it seems that they were actually supposed to be in J.

Cheers,

i was sitting in business on a JFK-LHR flight back in december. it was an overnight, so i was asleep most of the time especially since the on board entertainment was busted! stayed awake through the meal service and the seat across the aisle from me was empty. when i woke up in the morning there was a woman sleeping there who i had earlier seen go through to her coach seat. seemed like the flight attendants were okay with it though, so its quite possible there was some extenuating circumstances....

of course, the continuity problems with that episode are:
1. when Jerry & Elaine check in, there is only 1 seat in F (which Jerry got), so Elaine had to fly coach, so there should not have been an empty seat for Elaine to poach mid flight.
2. the plane shown is Southwest, which has no First class.

the slippers, fresh flowers, and hot fudge sundaes are real though.

Perhaps you can clear up the confusion with ground staff prior to the departure of the next flight. Oh, here's your carryon. Sorry for your troubles, good-bye!"

Cheers,

Last week my wife got upgraded last minute to PVG and the agent changed her seat number with a pen.

Bad idea...

Then according to the above wording AA would try and charge me for occupying five seats on those empty rows on their B777 services when I paid for only one.

Unless it is a Weekend First upgrade ticket, then it is at a discounted price.

That episode taught me to never use a skycap.
"JFK" - throws Jerry's bag one way
"Honolulu" - throws Elaine's bag the other way.

That would be a shocker after the passenger thought he got away with it

If you know it happens then why can't you provide us with a story?

Did they really think nobody would notice that big white pillow and duvet back there ?

The main reason I board Int'l J when called is so that my ammenity kit isn't swiped by the time I get there.
Couple of months ago, flying EWR-LAX in F on the 762, somebody grabbed my big pillow off my seat during boarding when I was in the bathroom. Thing that was even more annoying was that I had to ask three different FAs in the front cabin multiple times to get me a new one. Took them over an hour of me asking every 15 minutes to finally get me one.

A great episode ACCEPT that the outside shots of the plane are a SWA 737. Not a multi class wide body!

OK. If you insist, I'll ACCEPT that the outside shots are a SWA 737. Btw, great point EXCEPT it's already been mentioned.
