Yes, but you are Platinum - me just a lowly Gold. That makes all the difference. Did you get to read the entire thread here - especially tkelvin69's posts?

Can't speak to lounge access in NRT as I am already Plat -

But i can speak to the quality of the JAL lounge. I've spent a lot of time there this year - and will be back twice more times before the EOY....

Sukura lounge is great. Great food, Awesome showers (5 shower nozzels hitting you from every side!). Comp 5 min massage - and most importantly in my book - a great view of the tarmac.

And of course the second most important thing - Automatic Beer Pourers (Of course the AC also has these). Place the glass, push the button, and enjoy.

I'll also second the fact that the CX lounge is not even worth going into. I spent a grand total of about 3 min inside. PASS

Make sure you hit the Sukura in the main terminal - the satilite terminal is nice, but not nearly AS nice.

Just to add a data point to this discussion....

I'm a lowly peon Gold and I just had no difficulty getting into the T2 Sakura lounge with an F boarding pass. The lounge is great with floor to ceiling windows and the food is decent. The beer machines are cool too, yes.

If the OP hasn't already departed, he/she shouldn't have any problems as a fellow peon.

Others might disagree with me here but I have used all three lounges at Narita (JL, AC & Sakura) and IMHO AC's lounge wins hands down. The AC lounge showers are awesome especially if you score "the shower suite" ... F&B is the same, AC' space and design is very comfortable and elegant ... so it's beyond me as to why you wanna be in their JL lounge.

I have to disagree. In my experiences there is no comparison to either of the JL lounges vs. AA in NRT. I find the JL lounges quiet, calming and elegant. Although the AA lounge is certainly nicer than any of the AA domestic lounges, it is frequently overcrowded, loud and filled with a lot of fellow Americans stuffing their faces with food. I feel like I am in DFW with food instead of in NRT.

Week before last I spent an hour in each before an AA flight to ORD (F award ticket, no OW status). Seemed to me that the Sakura Lounge had much better food facilities: there was a proper dining area (self-serve), and the food included some excellent appetizers and a very nice beef curry with rice directly from a rice cooker. Absolutely enough to have dinner in the lounge then get to sleep as soon as airborne. Drinks were available from both a bartender or from a self-serve area. AA's dining area was helter-skelter, with no substantial main course.

The showers at the AC were very good. Very odd, it seemed, that the toilets had only "warmlets" (never seen those before) rather than washlets.

Also found it more convenient to use the Sakura Lounge wireless -- no password/cards with tiny little numbers -- just log in and go.

Furthermore, does the AC even have any lie-flat or massage offerings? (I don't spend much time there when I have the JL lounge options.)
And I'd hate to go through NRT without getting some of the world's Special Beef Curry (NRT F&J Lounges).

Wirelessly posted (Apple iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7C144 Safari/528.16)

I tried all of the NRT lounges and agree with the sentiments about the NRT First lounge! Far superior to any AC, and definitely better than the Sakura J lounges too. The AC did seem to be full of loud Texas businessmen having too much self-dispensed beer. By contrast, the First lounge was quiet and serene, with a great view of the tarmac as well!

Of course, nothing compares to The Wing at HKG, especially the F side with the private cabanas. But I guess that lounge is in a class by itself.

I've been at the NRT Sakura Lounge at least 4 times in the past year or so and I have yet to see any hot food, curry or otherwise.

Bartender??? All I have seen is the beer dispensing machine and the alcohol bottles. But regardless, you would get the best F&B in F anyway ...

You sure you weren't in the business lounge as opposed to the F lounge? I can attest that the curry and other hot food was there last night. The tomato stew and the white rice is awesome.

You should have gone to the First Class lounge, where there is a bartender and hot food; here are pictures:

http://www.jal.co.jp/en/inter/lounge/japan/nrt/

The Sakura Lounge is the Business Class lounge. Next time you're there, try the First Class lounge. Although the Admirals Club at NRT is nice, the JAL F lounge is much nicer, IMO. But then again, unlike PresRDC, I like the Curry Beef (it doesn't make me feel like puking).

There are generally fewer loudmouth Texans in the JAL lounge.

You need to go up the stairs!

When you go downstairs after seeing the lounge attendants, turn left. There will be a staircase in front of you. Go up those stairs and the hot food area is there. JL normally sets out hot curry, some Japanese food stuffs, and a small salad bar during the day. It appears that you always have stayed downstairs where the lights snacks and some booze is located.

I have been there to the JL F Lounge ... but my post was in response to the post that stated Sakura Lounge had the hot food, bartender, etc.

That's also where the sushi is.

Sadly, upstairs is not always open.
