Should I choose AA?
I hope its OK to ask this advice here! If not please point me to the forum where I can ask for it.
I foresee some international travel in coming years. (4 BOM-BOS r/ts per year, about 60K miles). The company buys cheapest economy tickets possible. (However I have some freedom to choose airlines and possibly get discounted economy instead of deeply discounted economy ticket).
I am hoping to
1. get status on whatever airline I choose, so that I can at least get bonus miles and lounge access
2. upgrade possibility.
AA, UA or DAL seem to be the options for me. I have 50K each in AA and DAL.
So if I become AA Plat and fly cheap BA ticket, do I get only 25% miles? or is it 125% (25% + 100% bonus)?
aa.com shows BOM as a codeshare city in their map. However I can not create a BOM-BOS route with AA codeshares. Is that possible or is the map out of date?
Thanks

You'll be covering a lot of distance with each trip so status could be earned quickly on a challenge. See the sticky.
Based on this, I believe that you're earnings plus Plat or Exec Plat bonus would be 25% + 25% on deeply discounted coach fares.

The elite bonus is based on earned miles after the fare qualifier, not traveled miles.
That said, recognize international upgrade fare restrictions on DL, so AA may be the superior program.

BOM is a OneWorld city, not a codeshare city. You would need to fly OW partner BA from BOM to LHR and then fly AA from LHR to BOS. This is an available itinerary.
As far as elite qualification goes, you could qualify on these flights, because OW flights can count. All flights on BA, howe3ver, do not get the same number of qualifying miles. Depending on the fare class you would earn between 150% and 25% of the miles flown as qualifying miles and 150% and 50% of those miles as qualifying points.
All the LHR-BOS segments will earn under AA schedule, which all earn 100% of the miles, and between 150% and 50% of the miles as points.
The fare/miles/points info can be found in the wiki, which is linked at the top as a sticky.
